Relocation and reorganization
Of the Rudolf von Beckerath OPUS II ORgan from the Laeiszhalle (Hamburg) to Münchberg
The organ of the Laeiszhalle Hamburg built in 1950 by Beckerath comprises 59 stops so far.
As part of the move, the instrument will be equipped with a new facade and two four-manual consoles.
In the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Peter and Paul in Münchberg, our instrument will be installed on the gallery. One console will be placed on the side gallery and another, movable one in the nave.
The instrument will receive an electrical action and a modern combination action from our company.
We at Rudolf von Beckerath are proud to usher in a new era for the organ we built for the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. This magnificent instrument, known for its exceptional sound quality, now begins an exciting new chapter in its history.
With great joy and a deep commitment to preserving its artful craftsmanship, we are relocating the organ to Münchberg. There, it will not only find a new home but also undergo a loving modernization. It is particularly pleasing that we will extend the organ with those pipes that were originally intended by us, the builders. These extensions were once not part of the original order, but now they will give the organ even greater versatility and adaptability.
Every step of this project, from careful dismantling to redesign in Münchberg, will be carried out with the utmost care and expertise. We place special emphasis on preserving the historical integrity of the instrument while gently equipping it with modern technologies and features.
This move is more than just a project for us; it is a matter of the heart. The Beckerath organ of the Laeiszhalle symbolizes an important part of musical history and culture. In Münchberg, it will inspire and touch a new community of listeners and musicians.
We invite you to follow this journey with us and witness how we bridge the past and future of organ music. This endeavor stands for our devotion to organ music and the enduring fascination of this wonderful instrument.
